This program will provide an overview and purpose for each the ADA, FMLA, & Workers’ Compensation laws as well as explain the overlap and interaction between these laws.  The content of this program will provide HR professionals with a better understanding of their obligations under each law and the importance of  recognizing the interplay between them that require an employer to adopt an integrated approach to achieve compliance with the Federal & State laws.

About the speaker

Carrie Cherveny, Esq. is an Employment Law attorney with the Law firm of Schwarzberg & Associates and focuses her practice in the area of employment litigation and employee relations in both state and federal courts. She has represented private sector employers in litigation under Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, the FLSA, the FMLA, the Florida Civil Rights Act, and the Florida Whistleblowers’ Act.  Carrie has also responded to charges of discrimination filed with federal, state and local administrative agencies. She counsels employers in problem prevention, employee discipline and termination, and employment discrimination and harassment. Carrie also conducts employment law seminars and training programs. Prior to entering law school, Carrie was a Human Resources professional specializing in start-up organizations and companies in transition. Carrie has extensive experience in policy development and management and employee training.
