HR Professionals are facing multiple challenges in ensuring the workforce it serves is provided a drug-free, harassment-free, and violence-free workplace. In this interactive session, participants will discuss issues and considerations human resources professionals should be aware of in navigating employee relations in the backdrop of the #MeToo and Time’s Up movement.  Participants will also learn more about the current state of the law regarding medical marijuana in Florida and its relation to reasonable accommodations in the work place and drug testing.  With the recent gun violence in Florida, from nightclub shootings to schools, it leave employers, legislators, and the general public asking whether there is a better way to keep people safe.  Regardless of any political affiliation or views, HR Professionals must be well-versed in the considerations surrounding any solution.  With the foregoing, the participants will be better able to anticipate, plan for, and address the situations that may face their organizations, while maintaining compliance with any applicable laws or regulations. Staying informed of recent employment law matters is an important part of keeping an organization compliant and out of the court room.
